First, I recorded a video on a digital camera.
Then, I recorded the video from the digital camera onto cassette using the “dubbing” feature on my DVD/VCR
Next, I recorded the video from the cassette to a blank “Office Depot DVD-RW 4x 4.7GB” disk.
I was hoping to then save that video onto my computer however…
When I go to “My computer” then “disk drive” it never acknowledges that there is anything on the disk at all.
I do know that the video itself is on that disk bc it will play when I put it in a dvd player, for some reason, my computer just acts as though it’s a blank cd when I put it in.

Help please?

It has no railing whatsoever. I do not intend to get a frame and what not – I’m a college dude who’s staying here for just one year, so any sort of ghetto repair would suffice, as long as I have some window screen splashed across my window.

Problem 1: I’m on third floor, so I can go outside and nail that thing across the window….

Problem 2: That’s as much my window would open, which makes it difficult to nail/tape the screen to the window frame….

Problem3: if I stick the screen to the outward side of the window, there’d be this big gap between the screen and the window, which makes the whole thing uneffective….

My insurance company paid him twice; the third time, he came to fix what he did not do the second time (he was here a week ago). My rook is leaking – again from the recent rain – from the SAME spots. He puts some patches on it, but it is not working. My roof is sloped, but the leaks are from the flat areas on my roof. Is it my roof, or the roof guy?! I am thinking, my kitchen and bathroom are not big; how could he miss it? Should I go to Home Depot and repair it myself? Thank you.
Thanks guys for your answers. *smile* I do not know if my insurance company knows what they are paying for; they just want the problem fixed. This SAME guy has told me that it will NEVER leak again. He has repaired roofs – he says – for 24 years! I believe him, but I am not sure he is honest. I will call my insurance company again. I was hoping for a temporary fix that would last for a few years before I decided on a new roof. My roof is not in bad shape. Just those areas where there is not shingles, and is flat is where it is leaking. Any other suggestions would be MOST helpful in the interim before I decide on a new roof. Thank you. :)

Here in my city, there are no personal courier services left and business people must stand in long lines at FedEx-Kinko’s.
There are no genuine farmer’s markets and everyone buys rancid food at Wal-Mart superstores (or pays 3 times the price to shop at Whole Foods).
There are no independently owned bookstores (except the very biased selections in some mega-churches) and everyone is slapped in the face at Border’s and Barnes & Noble by the latest tripe from Ann Coulter or Al Franken.
The Pizza Chains have barred their delivery drivers from going to neighborhoods “in economically depressed areas for insurance reasons”.
Every time a family-owned restaurant closes its doors, an unhealthy fast food joint pops up in its place.
Furthermore, you must depend on Home Depot to remodel your house (so it ends up looking the same crappy way that everyone elses looks) And I’ve heard that you can’t even find a good independent contractor to install a kitchen sink because there’s so much red tape and fines involved.

What should be done about these corporate giants that are slowly degrading our quality of life?

Then i told them i stay in hotel since i have no fam here. they say i have to get my id change to that address im living at, so that messed up everything.(that would take forever to do) so i just got this temp service job that pays everyday. basically enough for a hotel weekly….

4 weeks later im still doing this temp job. i applied at home depot, local construction jobs that mexicans took over, careerbuilder,workintexas.com news ads<(the job usually a hour away).

so can anyone please HELP ME???
hey sandy i dont know if you a spam person or not. but i’ve already tried those so called sit at home job were you click and do surveys… they are all crap and require you do buy this and that or wait 4 days….the only one that got me atlease 10 dollars in 4 days was BRRING.com if i spelled that right. and that requires people to call your phone but when they call it plays ADS, ya think.(they give you a diff number that transfer your calls to you)

Heres what they told me of why my address where i live at now has to match my driver license address…………they give you tools to go around cleaning people houses and vents so at the end of the day some people take the tools home. They said some people quit and dont return the tools…some of the guys told me all i had to do was just drop the tools off after work(vacuum cleaner) but i never heard anything like this were your address had to match where you stay. Its kind of a job where you work for yourself they just give you the customers number and tools. at the same time you try to convience them to pay for extra stuff like carpet cleaning stuff or carpet freshener….I will go back and have a long talk with them. It is a 1400 sq ft. home with new windows, roof & siding.

Would it be smart to finish it and rent it out or finish it and sell it? (renting to someone who’s already interested in staying 5 years if we do go through with it).

How much would it cost to finish based on lowest priced goods (home depot flooring at .80 installed ourselves etc.)

We’ve never owned a rental before…

I dropped out of school in 9th grade last year because of social anxiety. All through middle school I was harassed/teased by other students about my weight and stuff. I failed 6th grade and dropped out in 7th and 8th grade. Between that, my dad got sick when I was 8 years old with CHF. He is always in the hospital and I worry constantly about that. We never know when he will end up in the hospital, but it seems like every other month because his lungs fill up. WELL TODAY, his shortness of breath worsened so he went BACK to the hospital and hes staying overnight. My dad isnt doing that good health wise and it scares me to to death that he’ll die someday. Like everyday I worry constantly, and between him and the bullies/teasers at school, I could NEVER concentrate. Socially, I have been isolated in my house for 5 years. I always stay at home and I never go out. I have no friends! I havent had a single friend in 5-6 years.

A few weeks ago I contacted a GED place to take GED classes and get my GED. They put me on a waiting list for 3 weeks. I should be hearing back from them within the next week or two. I just want to go and study and do whatever and get the hell out and go and take my GED test and get my GED. I really want a drivers license too because then I can use my parents car and drive to work every night because they dont drive at night unless my dad has to go to the hospital.

Since last year when I dropped out, my parents bought me a treadmill and all I do is walk on it or get on my computer. I have lost alot of weight and feel less self conscience of myself. I used to be terrfied of walking into a store and now I can walk into a store with no problem at all.

I was hoping that before I turn 18, maybe i’ll have my GED. After I turn 18 I was hoping to get my driving permit and then my drivers license. Then look for a job some place. it worries me because after I turn 18 I wont have health insurance or anything. I was thinking about getting a job working nights at some store stocking shelves because it wouldnt be that many people around and I wouldnt feel anxious. I was really thinking about working at home depot full time because you can work nights stocking shelves. I’m trying to set a goal for myself as to why I want a job. I really love mustangs and I would kill to have one. It makes me mad though because im not 18 yet and I dont have a GED. I’m terrified of job interviews because of the questions I hear they ask you. I SUCK at questions about myself and stuff. I have like NOTHING to tell them about myself because I havent done anything but sit at home on the computer. Hell I dropped out in 9th grade! I wouldnt have nothing to tell them except a sob story about my dad and how his health as affected me alot or tell them about the most DUMBEST excuse for dropping out because of KIDS TEASING ME ABOUT MY WEIGHT AND LOOKS. I dont care anymore about what people think a bout me though. I just get REALLY nervous being in different social situations.

I heard one (maybe more) of the kitchen designers has a graphic design degree though.

This confuses me but I’m interested in learning more about this since I’ve been given the opportunity to work in that area. I thought they would have needed some sort of interior design degree?

I just wanted to find out some info before I go into work next time so I appreciate any help.
