How do I get the results back from a free Home Depot water test?

12 Mar

While inquiring about water systems at Home Depot, the sales associate gave me an envelope with information to get a free water test. I filled the sample bottle and filled out the information required and mailed it in as instructed. That was about 2 weeks ago. How do I find out the results? Has anyone else used this method for water testing?

Look at your paperwork, there’s probably a toll free number you can call.

You didn’t say what Home Depot was testing your water for. If you are testing for hardness and want an immediate answer, take a water sample to a Sears store (they only need a couple of ounces). They will check your sample in the store and tell you how many grains of hardness you have, and even tell you if you need a water softener on not.

If you are testing your water for total dissolved solids (shopping for a water filter or RO system) I would recommend you go back to Home Depot and ask a sales associate how to get your test result.

There is three options I can recommend for you to get the result. But first check the following:

    INFORMATIONS

*TRANSACTION NUMBER- there must probably be some sort of transaction number on the form you have filed. Frequently, it is on the upper right side of the paper.
*DATES- the date which you have written on the form and the date you have send back the form.
*NAME, ADDRESS and PHONE NUMBERS- Probably they need this to verify who you are.

After this you can proceed with the 3 options that you can do:

    1. You can check your copy of the accomplished form which you have filled. There must be a TOLL FREE NUMBER in which you may call and inquire about the results of the water test they have done. The information (transaction number, dates, and the name, address and phone numbers) above are handy if they asked you about it.

    2. You can write to them again asking for the results. Again provide the above informations you have prepared .

    3. Last option, you have to go back again to the HOME DEPOT to know the results. You should remember the sales associate which you have transacted with. Better if you know his name.

    GOOD LUCK
