i belive i might have done harm to my own hair… I permed my hair on sat. about 4 hrs. after i left the pool, i did not wash my hair. I had highlighted about 3 wks. ago. after it was all done, my highlights came right out i had severe breakage. Can you recommend a deep conditioner for my hair. I did buy some deep conditioner from the local beauty depot, but can you recommend something else?

At most pharmacys they sell a hair product called “just cholestrol” i know it sounds gross, but if your hair is really that bad, try it. Leave it in for 30 minutes or as long as you can ,rinse out with warm water not hot.
)
If you cant find it, try just plain old mayo, you’ll smell weird while its in, but no smell after you rinse and your hiar will be in much better condition, use as often as needed.
I hope this helps.
Ive fried my hair too( a couple times
this really works
&hearts amaze me i dare you

well i had some breakage myself, probably not as bad as yours because mine just came from heat damage and a perm. What i did was i limited the amount of washing my hair =, that causes roughage to the hair. In the summer I didn’t put any head to my hair at all unless for a super special event, i wore my hair its natural texture, and back in a pony tail so i wouldn’t mess with it. when summer was over i limited the amount of head to it, deep conditioned it, and i would strongly suggest getting bad ends cut off. believe me its worth it. okay hun, good luck.

it could have been due to the cholorine in the pool water. something with a lot of moisture.

I hate to tell you this, but you have reached the point of no return on your situation. Hair is dead already, once it grows away from the scalp, if you do any damage to it–that’s that.
Take it from someone who has damaged her hair many many…MANY times, lol. I’ve damaged it from overperming, from perming over previous permed hair, from perming and dying in the same day, from just not taking care of a perm…
There is a flat iron out there that I’m kind of bragging about, because I just still can’t believe how straight my natural hair got (it looked like I had just gotten a perm, when I haven’t had a perm in almost half-a-year now!) The Sedu flat iron. It’s not cheap (I paid $130.00 for mine, with tax and all), but the price of holding onto your healthy hair, and watching it grow long without the breakage of perms, and chemicals while having it as straight-as-a-pin…it’s priceless.
The best solution for you is to have a stylist trim down the damaged areas. In the meantime, for styling purposes, you can try to add a little conditioner, or hair grease to the tips (just the tips!) to minimize the breakage. At this point, the best you can do is to just try to keep the ends moist, and to make a note never to do this to your poor hair again =)
