I am rebuilding a wall next to my driveway out of the home depot block rocks/retaining wail rocks. The deal is, that the root system behind the wall has held it all together, so there won’t be a lot of pressure. How necessary is doing compacted stone/gravel, and how deep if I’m going to?

I have seen them before. It is nice because you look just down, just past your keyboard into the monitor. I tried Staples and Office Depot already. It is a strain on my neck sometimes, having the PC on the desk top.
I’m tired of buying those little self adhesive tags from home depot that attach to the underside of chairs. they last for a little while then come off. Does anyone have a more perm solution for what to put under chairs that will keep them from scratching my floors but allow them to slide easily?
