Home Depot gave me a quote for 17 of the 6500 series windows (installed) at $9,600. Some of the windows I had quoted are large. These meet the guidelines for $1,500 tax credit. I cannot find information about the ComfortWorld 6000 series window. I want to get a quote on them, but I am curious how much they cost. Anyone had either one of these windows installed? If so, what was your experience, number of windows installed, and how much did the project cost?

By energy efficiency I mean air infiltration…which kind of window keeps the air in the house better? How would you determine which brand of window has better insulation??

I had Home Depot replace my windows. They removed exterior wood frame on the house, outside of the contract. They said they couldn’t fix it because they don’t do carpentry work. They agreed to a reduction of the $ that I still owe them. Now they say they can do it, but because I’ve been told repeatedly they can’t do it and are not qualified, I don’t trust them. When I asked for the license # of the person doing it, I was told he’s bonded and checked out by Home Depot.
My question is, do I have to let them fix their mistake? What are my rights in terms of me agreeing to the job? It feels like it’s new job and I don’t know what they plan to do (other than the oral explanation I got on the phone today that they will replace the wood as it was before as close to the other existing windows as possible.)

Price is almost the same except, the frame for the bow window.
The small retailer would mock up there own and my contractor would build (wood) header and seat
or made by Anderson if I buy from Homedepot.
What should I do? Who should I order from?
My contractor doesn’t care either way.

Yesterday someone tried to burglarize my home. It was a solid wood rod in the track of the sliding glass door that kept them from getting into the house. I want to get 3 more for different windows. I know how to measure for length, but how or do I need to measure the width of the track? I need to make sure that they will fit snug in the track. Also, does it matter whether I go to Home Depot or the lumber company? Thanks for any help or tips.

I have gotten a quote from Home depot for 10 windows at $5,250. Just curious to know if there are better options out there. FELDCO is out here. Dont know if they are any better.
